When I was in college I was probably the most creative I have ever been on coming up with ways to decorate for the many different holidays. Some of the best ways to decorate a house with almost $0 money involved construction paper, markers, and scissors. As much as I loved those days, and will probably write a post at some point about the talented no-cost college holiday decor, here are some ideas for Halloween decor ideas on a budget.
Mums – Maybe I am showing my age, but I love mums during this season. I pick mine up at Aldi for about $3 dollars each, and they sometime last up to Thanksgiving. Double bonus.
Spider Webs – Yes, they are back in vogue and you can pick up one back with spiders for $1. I decorated all of my bushes around my house for $2.
Pumpkins – the obvious choice, but did you ever think of buying them early to decorate your porch for a few weeks before turning them in to jack-o-lanterns? Do it, and spend only a few dollars picking them up at your local discount grocery store instead of some of the more expensive pumpkin patches. That’s what I did.
Spiders and twigs – I came up with this by taking some twigs, sticking them in a mum and decorating the twigs with webs and spiders. Creepy, and a huge bag of spiders only cost $1 at the dollar store. Deal!
After Holiday Sales – Did you see that awesome metal haunted house sign? I got that at Party City after Halloween was over. If you are patient then you will find great deals for next year.
These are a few of my outdoor Halloween decor ideas on a budget. Hope your Halloween is fun, spooky, and doesn’t brake the bank. After all, Christmas is around the corner.
